Get him to the Greek

| March 1, 2011 8:00 PM

Fast foods with a combination Greek-American touch are the specialty of Greek Street Pizza & More in the west side of Ironwood Square.

"We offer real, authentic Greek food. It's the best," Peter Karatzas, owner of Greek Street Pizza said. "Once people try us, they'll realize we are the best in town."

Located in the space formerly occupied by Papa John's Pizza (next to Quizno's), Greek Street offers gourmet pizza, gyros, spanakopita (spinach pie), pizzaloni (a pizza-cannelloni combination), daily specials, desserts (including baklava) and soft drinks.

Siblings Telly, Margaret and Vagelie run Greek Street and one in Spokane with guidance from parents Peter and Cheryl Karatzas.

Bringing original family recipes from Kalymnos, Greece, Peter came to the U.S. at age 17 and worked on five-star cruise ships. He and Cheryl came to Colville, Wash., her hometown, from Lake Arrowhead, Calif.

Greek Street hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Phone 664-0604.
