Hightower to speak at picnic

COEUR d'ALENE - Jim Hightower, nationally known writer, speaker and populist will be the featured guest at a Kootenai County Democratic Club picnic on July 23, at the home of David and Roberta Larsen on Cougar Bay.

Since 1993, Jim Hightower has produced "Hightower Radio," a daily commentary carried by 130 radio stations. Locally, his nationally-syndicated column appears weekly in The Inlander.

Hightower has written six books.
