Shock streak past Voodoo
NEW ORLEANS - Spokane quarterback Kyle Rowley completed 16 of 27 passes for 183 yards and four touchdowns as the Shock defeated the New Orleans Voodoo 75-54 for their third straight win in Arena Football League play Saturday night before 9,037 at the New Orleans Arena.
Terrance Sanders returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown for Spokane (7-7), which jumped out to a 41-14 halftime lead. Rowley, who also ran for a touchdown, was replaced by Bill Stull in the fourth quarter, and he threw for two touchdowns.
Chas Gessner had seven catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns and Shaun Kaulienamoku caught two touchdown passes for Spokane, which travels to Arizona on Saturday.
D. Bryant passed for six touchdowns for New Orleans (2-12), which outscored Spokane 33-20 in the fourth quarter.
Spokane is tied with Utah for the fourth and final playoff spot in the National Conference. Spokane hosts Utah at Joe Albi Stadium in Spokane on July 9.
