TAXES: One size fits all

| June 19, 2011 10:00 PM

Most of us know our politicians put so much debt on this country, it will take years to overcome. Also with the Federal Reserve buying our debt and printing money, it adds more debt on everyone.

The government keeps the Consumer Price Index low, because several years ago, they changed how they calculate the Index by excluding food and energy. This is another way of taxing all of us by 10 percent or more today, and the more food and energy goes up, the more they tax the American people. This is a way for our government to tax all of us more through inflation.

If you are in the income tax bracket of 10, 25 or 35 percent, everyone is paying 10 percent more taxes with inflation of food and energy. This means most of us work for the government from January to May or June, which does not add in other ancillary taxes you pay.

It is time that everyone pays the same amount of tax for each dollar we make, with a flat rate. There are no incentives to make more money with higher taxes except for loop-holes in the tax regulations. If we had a flat tax rate for everyone, we would see businesses take off and create many more jobs. If we had businesses being taxed at the same rates that other countries tax them, companies would move their businesses back to this country creating more jobs.
