Veteran puts flag debate in right perspective

Had to share this with readers before it appears in print. Well said, Sergeant. - MP

To my fellow proud veterans: Could we please not discourage our fine American citivilians from flying the flag of the country they love? A stint in the military doesn’t make you an expert on flag display. To say or write something mean about the way someone or a community displays the American flag just doesn’t feel right to me.

A solid thank-you to all the great Americans who work hard to show they care. It doesn’t seem right to criticize the very people who are trying to honor you. So please, forget minor infractions of flag protocol and see it for what it is. And remember, in this great country, it is still legal to burn the American flag in public. A right us soldiers are sworn to defend.
