Labrador slated to talk budget on Meet the Press

BOISE - Idaho Republican congressman Raul Labrador is scheduled to talk about the federal debt ceiling and budget deficit on NBC's "Meet the Press"today.

The freshman was a focus in recent weeks for being one of a handful of House Republicans withholding support for a compromise that features significant spending cuts and a balanced budget amendment.

House Speaker John Boehner won over Labrador and other conservatives Friday for the bill that passed the House that includes a balanced budget amendment.

The show airs at 8 a.m. PDT.

Idaho's victim notification system expands

IDAHO FALLS - Idaho's system for notifying victims and other interested parties about the custody status of offenders is expanding.

The Idaho Victim Information and Notification Everyday system allows anyone to track the custody status of someone in the judicial system. Now a new feature allows notification about court proceedings as well.

People may register by phone or online to be automatically notified by email or telephone about court dates in criminal and civil cases.
