Davis promoted to new

job at Post Falls chamber

Jame Davis has been promoted from director of membership to vice president of membership and tourism at the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce.

"We are adding the tourism grant administration duties to her job description and making her vice president with more responsibility," said Pam Hauser, chamber CEO.

Davis is a native of Lewiston and lived in southern Idaho before moving to Post Falls in 2006 with her husband, Ryan, and their two children.

She is a graduate of Lewis and Clark State College with a bachelor's degree in business communication.

Labor director to hold

North Idaho meetings

Idaho Department of Labor Director Roger B. Madsen is launching a second round of meetings with business owners, legislators, local officials and other community leaders around the state to hear what is on their minds, answer their questions and get their suggestions on how the agency can improve its services.

The area meetings will be Aug. 17 from 10-11:30 a.m. at 201 N. Eighth St., Suite 3, in St. Maries and Sept. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Bonners Ferry Gateway Visitors Center, 7198 Highway 95.

Space is limited. Reservations can be made by calling 457-8789, ext. 3992, or emailing Ricia.Lasso@labor.idaho.gov.

Madsen will also discuss the new Hire One tax credit that rewards employers who increase their payrolls to help the economy begin recovering from the recession.

"It's been clear from the sessions over the past four weeks that Idaho businesses are interested in making the most of the services we can offer them at the Department of Labor and our 25 local offices," Madsen said. "It just makes sense to talk with those on the front lines of this economy about what we can do to help them be profitable and provide jobs for the tens of thousands of workers hit hardest by the recession."
