Wallace wins an emotional one

| January 30, 2011 8:00 PM

WALLACE - In their first game since the death of coach Kirby Krulitz, the Wallace Miners came out ablaze with energy, putting down the Kootenai Warriors 44-13 in North Star League play Saturday night.

Taylor Pasley led Wallace (9-7, 5-1 NSL) with 19 points and Courtney Jennings added 15.

"They wanted this win for Kirby," Wallace interim coach Nichole Farkas said. "The girls' motto is 'finish strong' and I'd say they did that."

The Miners, before Saturday a half-court team, pressured the ball full-court for the first three quarters.

"(Krulitz) was planning to put the full-court press into play later in the season when his team was healthy," Farkas said. "He knew his girls could outlast most other teams."
