SAN JOSE, Calif. - Roger Gracie didn't waste much time on Saturday night, utilizing a rear naked choke to submit Coeur d'Alene's Trevor Prangley in the opening mixed martial arts bout of Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg at HP Pavilion.

Gracie pulled down Prangley with about 2:30 left in the first round, and took his back less than a minute later. The submission came at 4:19 of the round.

With the loss, Prangley is now 23-7-1 in his MMA career. Gracie, a 10-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, remains undefeated at 4-0.

Prangley, 38, who is part owner of the Iron Lion gym in Hayden, had recently beaten UFC star Keith Jardine via decision.

Herschel Walker stops Carson: Former NFL All-Pro Herschel Walker shook off an opening kick from opponent Scott Carson and did some work on the ground to force a stoppage 3:13 into the opening round in another support bout at the Strikeforce event.

Walker, the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner and a two-time NFL All-Pro, had his way with the overmatched Carson in the heavyweight division.

Walker, 48, who played for Dallas, Minnesota, Philadelphia and the New York Giants in the NFL, ended Carson's Strikeforce debut with a left hand which dropped him and prompted the referee to intervene.

In other action, Ronaldo Souza won a middleweight bout when opponent Robbie Lawlor tapped out in the third round.

In the main event, Nick Diaz forced welterweight challenger Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos to tap out during an armbar at 4:50 of Round 2. The win was the ninth straight for Diaz.
