FRAUD: It can happen to you

| January 30, 2011 9:00 PM

Recently my husband received a call from Canada from a distraught son. He said he was in an accident and they blame him and took him to jail. He needed $3,035 for bail; send by Western Union. We could not call him and he would call us back and find out where we were sending the money.

I was at work so my husband came down and we sent the money Western Union. Our son called several times and talked to my husband for the money wasn't at the Canadian Western Union. After calling the Western Union to see why the money was not where we were told to send it, we were told that they would not send it to any place in Canada; it was a fraud. After calling our son's work in California he answered. It was indeed a fraud. We got all our money back from Western Union.

Please call your family before you send any emergency money to verify that it's true, regardless that the supposed son or whoever says please tell no one. They pray on us older folks. Please be careful. We were lucky ones this time. Thank heavens for Western Union.
