| January 26, 2011 12:28 PM

Eunice Emily Ann Seymour, 93, of Coeur d'Alene, died peacefully, Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Bee Hive Homes in Coeur d'Alene. She was born Dec. 8, 1917, in Laura, Neb., to Alec and Catherine (Papenhousen) Bruce where she was raised and educated.

After graduating from high school, Eunice worked for the telephone company and married Harley Seymour on Oct. 31, 1937, in Laurel, Neb. Soon after their marriage they moved to Redwood City, Calif., where Harley went to work in the shipyards as a welder during WWII and they started their family.

Later she worked and managed the school districts school cafeteria's in Santa Clara County before retiring in 1976. After their retirement they joined a traveling club where they spent most of their time traveling the country in their motor home. In 1997 they settled in Coeur d'Alene to be closer to their family.

Her special hobby was needlepoint, which she gave away to family and friends. She, also before her health started to decline, loved working in the yard; especially loved her flowers, and also enjoyed reading. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church here in Coeur d'Alene. She loved her Lord and read her Bible daily.

She is survived by a daughter, Nadia Bruno here in Coeur d'Alene; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Carol Seymour in Minnesota; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Hugh Ambelang in Liberty Lake, Wash.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, A.J. Bruce and sister-in-law Eleanor in Nebraska.

A special thank you to Hospice of North Idaho for the love and care they gave her and concern for the family. A special thanks to Bee Hive Homes for the care and love shown to her in her brief stay.

A memorial service is pending and will be announced later. Internment will be at Forest Cemetery with her husband, Harley and son-in-law John Bruno.
