ACCU-TRAC motor technology

Have you ever driven over obstacles when one tire hits first and the chair jerks from side to side, or have trouble keeping your chair on track? Accu-Trac motor technology synchronizes power to the motors for straighter tracking and better traction while automatically distributing torque for enhanced obstacle climbing.

Improved tracking makes it possible for an individual to drive straight on an intended path with fewer corrections, regardless of terrain or obstacles that may cause the chair to turn toward one side or the other. Whether the change is outdoors from sidewalk to soft ground or indoors from linoleum to thick carpeting, improved traction allows the chair to maintain both speed and direction.

Individuals that would benefit from this technology typically use alternative drive controls such as a head array, or sip n puff system. These types of controls have fixed speed and turn settings that normally require a lot of correction. Re-directing a chair that has been pushed off course by the terrain can be difficult for these users. Frequent re-direction can become frustrating and fatiguing. Reducing the number of corrections can increase driving safety, independence, and time.

If you are interested in finding out more about this type of wheelchair or any other mobility need you might have, please feel free to contact Mike or Chad at American Seating & Mobility at (877) 339-1235. Please note: Not all bases accept Accu-Trac motors.
