This guy's resume shows he sure has the knowledge and experience for your computer needs, so the business name of Computer Guru tells it all.

Christian Tarr has 13 years of computer and electronics work with the Air Force, oil companies and NATO that he brings to his business in the lower level of the Old City Hall building at 424 Sherman Ave. He offers computer repairs, tune-ups, set-ups, virus and spyware protection, data backup and recovery, networking, maintenance upgrades and more. He also builds computers, and if you like he installs them into special places such as fascinating bindings of old books or designer containers such as jewelry boxes.

His wife, Jennifer, adds several years of business experience. Originally from central California, they came to North Idaho from Anchorage after visiting relatives here. The 1,000-square-foot shop previously was the home of the G-Stop women's store.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Phone 665-9216. Check www.cdacomputerguru.com.

Terra Sports crosses the street

More storage space and availability on the same side of the street as the Centennial Trail helped prompt the move of Terra Sports to 510 Sherman Ave.

Owner Adam Haeusler and three employees offer bicycle, ski and snowshoe sales, rental and repair as well as associated accessories and clothing. He gained experience in the bike and ski sports world through his upbringing on Michigan's Upper Peninsula and came to North Idaho after visiting relatives here. The store was at 517 Sherman for three years. His new space previously housed the 3-B Hair Salon that moved to Northwest Boulevard.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 to 4 Saturdays and extending to 7 p.m. in the summer. Phone 765-5446. Check www.terrasportsinc.com

Blood Center to move to U.S. 95

A larger space and better visibility are prompting the Inland Northwest Blood Center to move to a new building in the northwest corner of the intersection of Neider Avenue and U.S. 95 next month. The official address will be Suite 102 at 405 W. Neider Ave. with the move from 1341 Northwood Center Court (behind Outback Steakhouse).

"The new location will allow us to customize the layout for our needs and benefit the donors," said spokesperson Monique Cotton. "We have outgrown our previous space, and we're upgrading our technology."

INBC started in Spokane in 1945 and expanded to Coeur d'Alene in 1998. About 150 people donate blood here each week. The Cd'A outlet has five employees and about 10 volunteers and is looking for more.

E-mail volunteer@inbcsaves.org. The bloodmobile can be scheduled by phoning (800) 423-0151. Donor hours in Coeur d'Alene are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday.

"INBC is the sole supplier of blood to patients and hospitals in the Inland Northwest," Cotton said. "Someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion every two seconds."

Here's this week's tidbits:

• The combination Arby's-Samurai Sam's-Taco Time store on Seltice Way in Post Falls has closed.

• Watch this column for news about a new restaurant in Riverstone.

• Did you know Roger's Ice Cream on East Sherman Avenue is open in the winter for the first time?

• Back to last week's gold tooth topic on cadavers: A local mortician says they never have requests to "save" them, that they're actually alloys, and if they did get such a request, a dentist would have to do it. A seasoned dentist said he has never had a request.
