Woman recovering from burns

POST FALLS - A Post Falls woman severely burned in an accident earlier this month is recovering at a Seattle hospital.

Angela Misita suffered second- and third-degree burns to her face, neck, chest, arms and feet when she slipped while carrying hot grease at Rob's Seafood and Burgers on Jan. 7.

Her sister-in-law, Lynne Hammond, said Misita is at Haborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she underwent skin graft operations and is on complete bed rest.

Hammond said Misita has been able to talk more and communicate through e-mails and text messages.

"She is doing better," Hammond said.

The 30-year-old is the mom of 4-year-old Gabby Mae, who was able to visit her mother last week.

"She really misses her mom," Hammond said.

Family members have been at her bedside as much as possible, too. Lodging, food and even parking are eating the family savings.

Tom Addis Dodge covered the cost of a rental car, Hammond said.

"That has been a tremendous help," she said.

She said having her family there has helped Misita maintain her spirits and stay positive.

"She wants to come home to homemade food," Hammond said.

Misita has worked at Rob's since she was a teenager, said Hammond.

While worker's compensation will cover medical expenses, Hammond said Misita is facing a long recovery once she returns home, and it will be some time before she can work again. Meantime, there will be miscellaneous costs for her to handle.

To help with expenses, the Angela Misita donation account No. 97219-S2 has been established at Potlatch No. 1 Federal Credit Union, which has branches in Post Falls and the Hayden Walmart.

A benefit pancake feed is also scheduled Feb. 26 at Applebee's in Coeur d'Alene.
