DON'T ASK: Just check moral code

| January 21, 2011 7:37 AM

It always sounds so good, so tolerant, so open-minded.  If we would all just accept everybody and everything the world would overflow with peace and love. Really? Jim Carroll (Ltrs, 16 Jan 11) took Unus Vocate to task for sounding a warning about accepting openly homosexual persons in the military. OK, so Carroll favors doing so, but I’ll betcha we could find his limit of acceptance -- the line he will not cross because he thinks this or that is unacceptable. Of course that would then give Carroll the title of hater and bigot that he bestows on Vocate, wouldn’t it?

Everybody has a moral code, whether it is self-designed or comes from a Higher Source.  Based on that code some things are just wrong — just plain wrong — and have nothing to do with hate or bigotry -- name-calling notwithstanding.
