Take a look at the Legislature

| January 18, 2011 8:00 PM

The Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce is asking individuals and business representatives to join it as it travels south later this month for the annual Chamber Days in Boise.

Those who go will meet with our Idaho legislators and other state leaders, including the governor and state House and Senate leaders. Chamber Days will run from Jan. 30 through Feb. 1.

Those who make the trip will have the opportunity to see the state's legislative process, and experience firsthand how individuals and business organizations can and do influence the public process.

The chamber is asking for people to complete a reservation form and submit payment by Jan. 24 for the trip.

At 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, a dinner at Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery, at 610 W. Grove St., is planned with legislators and business leaders from around the state.

On Monday morning, the governor's breakfast is held, followed by different opportunities to visit the Boise State Capitol building and meet with state leaders.

Monday's Idaho National Laboratory luncheon will have speakers on timely topics.

The chamber is working to arrange a private tour of the State Capitol building.

Tuesday concludes the trip with a House and Senate leadership breakfast followed by meetings with the revenue and tax committees on key legislation to help grow Idaho and strengthen the private sector opportunities.

Activities on Monday and Tuesday will be at the Grove Hotel and at the State Capitol.

A room block reserve is at The Grove Hotel under the Idaho Chamber Alliance. Room reservations must be made directly by those attending before Jan. 27, or until the room block is filled, to receive the rate of $77 per night. To reserve a room, call (888) 961-5000, and use booking code No. 99218.

Full registration for Monday and Tuesday costs $99 per person. For Monday only, the cost is $79 per person.
