Journey Stories comes to Hayden

HAYDEN - A program that covers four centuries of American history is coming to the Hayden library Jan. 28.

Journey Stories, which includes visuals, audio clips, music, maps and artifacts, "brings to life the personal paths of immigrants, slaves, explorers, business tycoons and historical figures whose travels have led from the Mayflower to the Northwest."

Events for the six-week exhibit include:

Saturday, Jan. 29, 2 p.m., Grand opening celebration with exhibit scholar John Bieter.

Saturday, Feb. 12, 2 p.m., Songs of Idaho with Gary Eller.

Thursday, Feb. 17, 7 p.m., Aukera: A History of the Basques in Idaho with John Bieter.

Friday, Feb. 25, 4-7 p.m., Family Journeys Celebration.

Saturday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m., Minidoka: A Japanese American Prison Camp in World War II with Robert Sims.

Saturday, March 12, 2 p.m., Kim Barnes, author of "In the Wilderness," will discuss her memoir of her life in the mid-1960s.

Journey Stories runs through March 11 at the Hayden Library.
