McEUEN: Beach could make splash

It is my understanding that there is an offer on the table for the city to buy the portion of the beach adjacent to the 12th Street portion, on the west, at less than the appraised value.

Since LCDC seems to have deep pockets and the ability to annex anywhere in the city that serves the public (think Sorensen School) why not use some of our money to buy the beach? Maybe instead of a huge fountain?

I believe that the public would be a lot more supportive of the McEuen redo, if there was more to be gained, use-wise, for others in the community.
