HART: Proof that crime pays

| January 14, 2011 5:38 AM

Doesn't the Bible have something to say about stealing? What about the law? I read in The Press of a young man convicted of petty theft and fined $200 plus one year in jail and two years probation.

Yet Phil Hart has been stealing from the people for years and is a free man. He is a crook, whom we are paying to represent us in the legislature. I read in Betsy Russell's report from Boise that legislative Republicans are now attacking one of their own, Eric Anderson, for being an ethical and honest person. And a quote from House Speaker Lawerence Denney: "You know, there are people in our (Republican) caucus who fully support Phil Hart..."

Laws and religion aside, what are the values of these people who elect him?

Members of Idaho's legislature support a thief? Perhaps those individuals should think twice. If Hart never has to pay Idaho income taxes, then that means no Idaho resident should have to pay income taxes. The state would have no money to operate and it couldn't pay any legislators' salaries. On second thought that might be a good thing - we'd get rid of Hart.

Oh, by the way, in Hart's case, crime does pay. He has enough spare cash to be able to loan his political campaign $30,667. If any reader wants to know who in their neighborhood supports Hart, go to www.sos.idaho.gov and read the Sunshine reports.
