Cd'A School District employee earns honor

Julie Day, the Coeur d'Alene School District's business manager and treasurer, has become the state's first certified administrator of school finance and operations through the Association of School Business Officials International.

The association promotes high standards of business management practices and asked Day to be part of their beta testing group for the new designation based on her leadership involvement at the state level with Idaho Association of School Business Officials. Day is past president of the Idaho association.

Day was the only professional in Idaho to sit for the two-part exam, which tested mastery in areas of budget reporting, managing accounting systems, risk management, and financial planning and analysis.

"Passing the test made me feel good, knowing that our standards and financial business practices within the Coeur d'Alene School District are solid," Day said.

Day was recognized by the board of trustees at its monthly school board meeting.

Day has been employed by the district for eight years.
