Edna M. Seaton, 83

| January 10, 2011 11:54 AM

Edna M Seaton, 83, of Coeur d'Alene, died unexpectedly Dec. 24, 2010, at E.R.M.A.C. Hospital, Idaho Falls. She was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Denver, Colo.

She met William N. Seaton, after he returned from active duty with the Navy and after serving in Hawaii during the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and was married on June 1, 1947.

During their life together, they had three daughters: Judy Seaton, Joan Halverson of Coeur d'Alene and Carolyn Gribble of Idaho Falls.

After moving from Colorado to California, they settled in North Idaho. Mom enjoyed camping, gold panning and her pet horses. She especially enjoyed being a great-grandmother. Mother also loved to travel. She especially enjoyed her friends, her church and her social groups. She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star (OES), and was currently a member of Shoshone Chapter No. 10 in Idaho.

Mom spent many volunteer hours lovingly sewing costumes for the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre, and working more than 600 hours in the gift shop at Kootenai Medical Center. She was a very talented person and loved sharing her hobbies and talents with others, which included sewing, painting, knitting and tatting to name a few. She treasured her time spent with her six grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, (Bill) Seaton; her parents, Retta and Edgar or Colorado; daughter Judy (Seaton) Kuebler and granddaughter Jeanine (Kuebler) Giachino of Silverton; son-in-law Dale Halverson of Hayden, and two brothers and two sisters of Colorado.

Our loving thoughts and prayers will be with her on her journey and she will be greatly missed by all who called her Mother, Grandmother and Friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Edna would like to request that all donations be sent in her name to the Kootenai County Sheriff Dept. canine fund for the purchase of a new K9 officer.

Goodbye Momma, Samma and Grandma, Godspeed, we will always love you and miss you.

A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Coeur d'Alene.
