Command Center announces revenue

Command Center Inc. an emerging provider of on-demand, reliable labor solutions, today announced revenue of $7.23 million for the six-week reporting period ending Dec. 31, 2010, compared with revenue of $4.39 million recorded for the five-week reporting period ended Dec. 25, 2009.

Command Center recorded average weekly revenue of $1.21 million in December 2010, an increase of 37 percent on average weekly revenue of $879,000 in December 2009.

Because of the disparity between the reporting periods of December 2010 and December 2009, six weeks versus five weeks, respectively, the company noted that a comparison of average weekly sales between the two periods is "a more appropriate way to evaluate revenue improvement year-over-year."

The company said fourth quarter 2010 revenue $19.14 million improved 45 percent on revenue of $13.16 million in the fourth quarter of 2009, and that total revenue of $70.07 million in 2010 represents a 35 percent increase on revenue of $51.95 million posted in 2009.

"Even though December, with the holiday season, has been historically weak for both the company and our industry, sales were stronger than we might have expected based on prior-years' experience," said Glenn Welstad, Command's chairman and CEO.

Welstad added, "Over the long term, businesses are expected to continue greater use of temporary labor in order to maintain optimal workforce flexibility."

Idaho ski areas

see more visitors

SUN VALLEY (AP) - Ski areas in central and southern Idaho are seeing a 5 to 20 percent increase in the number of visitors compared to last season, ski resort managers say.

"Cross your fingers, things are going very well this season, and we want to continue the momentum," said Jack Sibbach, spokesman for Sun Valley Resort, which had more than 400,000 skier days last season. "We are above that pace this year to beat that, but it's still early. We don't want to get too excited, we need to keep up the good work."

At Soldier Mountain near Fairfield, General Manager Larry Davenport said more visitors are at least partly the result of a good snow year.

"It's a La Nina year, and when we have that situation we get a lot more moisture in this area," Davenport told The Times-News.

He said that last week the mountain had 38 inches of snow at the base and 58 at the top.

"We're way ahead of what we had all last year," he said.

The ski areas also opened earlier then usual this season due to earlier accumulations of snow.
