FREEDOM: Don't lose precious gift

In February 1913 the Income Tax was established. Then on Christmas Eve, Congress passed the Federal Reserve Act. What great gifts from our government!

Why do we sacrifice freedom so easily? By giving government power to tax our very existence, we sacrifice freedom for comfort. Now we have neither. I would prefer freedom with discomfort to slavery and comfort.

I did not always prefer this; I was a Democrat, thinking the rich were the problem and government the solution. But I was wrong! I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I'm an American!

I agree with our founders that keeping power with the people and the states is the only way to remain free. This country was founded by men who were sick of being ruled by a distant tyrant, who TAXED them too much, stealing their property, and their right to life and liberty.

Have we come full circle? The Income tax, Federal Reserve, Patriot Act, SOPA and NDAA have stolen our freedoms!

I won't let this country become what our founders freed us from! We the people are stronger than tyrants, if we stay united. Let us not be divided anymore by differences in the way we live, religion, race or sex. We should unite and support those who stand up against tyranny, and for freedom, liberty and justice! Let the rest of this century be peaceful, prosperous and FREE. The greatest gift to man was not from Congress, but from our creator, and that is freedom!
