New year, new you

Another year has flown by and as we approach a new year in 2012, we find ourselves setting goals and making resolutions. More often than not there is the decision to be more fit and healthy; whether it is fitting into those old jeans, running a race, or just spending more time with your kids and grandkids. Typically we equate the physically trim people with optimal health, but we can't be too quick to judge a book by its cover. I hear of numerous athletes who seem to be in top shape but have one health condition after another, or the people who have an unhealthy obsession with how they look physically. The biggest player in our health you can't even see!

Our spine houses the nervous system which dictates our bodily functions; how our organs operate, proper uptake of nutrients and expenditure of energy. When someone breaks their neck or back and severs that nervous system, communication to parts of the body is lost - limbs are paralyzed and sometimes bodily functions are no longer automatic. Perhaps not as drastic, spinal health can deteriorate to terrible levels if not cared for. Old injuries or surgeries can all play a part in slowly compounding subluxations and putting pressure on our spinal cords which hinders us; physically, physiologically and even psychologically.

So as 2011 draws to an end and you make your resolutions, consider how having chiropractic care can help you. Give us a call at (208) 667-7434, visit our website at www.cdahealth.com or visit us at our office at 370 E. Kathleen Ave. Suite 600 in Coeur d'Alene. This is the last week of December that we have our Toys for Tots deal. Help your spine and a local child all at the same time!
