Litalien paces Trojans in victory over Cheney

CHENEY - Junior Brooke Litalien had 16 points and six rebounds as the Post Falls Trojans beat the Cheney Blackhawks 74-43 in a nonleague girls basketball game on Wednesday night.

"We did a good job of forcing turnovers tonight," Post Falls coach Marc Allert said. "That allowed us to shoot the ball a little bit better tonight than we have in the last couple games."

Danielle Failor had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Whitney Gonzales had 14 points for Post Falls (5-3), who travel to Moses Lake on Tuesday.

"Whitney was 8 of 10 from the foul line tonight," Allert said. "She played really well on both offense and defense."

Allie Brown scored 20 points for Cheney.

CHATTAROY, Wash. - Senior Eric Cooper scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Hawks past the Rams in a nonleague boys game.

"I thought we did a good job," Lakeland coach Dave Stockwell said. "Wood hit four 3-pointers in the first half, but only got one look in the second. We got a little better after halftime and more aggressive."

Brice Frank added 12 points for Lakeland (1-1), which travels to Kellogg tonight.

"He hit some key shots to get us the lead," Stockwell said. "He's been a pleasant surprise in his first year on varsity. We really passed well as a team in the second half."

PLUMMER - Lamont Higgins had 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals to lead the Knights past the Trojans junior varsity in a nonleague boys game.

Dalton Thompson led the Post Falls junior varisty with 26 points.

Jordan Brown had 23 points and 11 rebounds for Lakeside (2-0), which faces Mullan in the opening round of the North Star League tournament on Friday in Plummer.
