Soroptimists seek applicants

Coeur d'Alene Soroptimists is accepting applications for its annual awards to women enrolled in college or in training courses.

The amount of the awards raised from a few hundred dollars to a $1,000. They range from the "Women's Opportunity Award" for a woman in college while caring for her family, to the Ruby Award, that honors a woman for volunteer activity.

The winner's application is also judged for the Regional Awards of $5,000 first place or $3,000 second place. First place recipients then compete for the three Federation awards of $10,000 each.

The awards are presented in March.

Coeur d'Alene Soroptimists have contributed over $175,000 to its signature project since it was established in 2000.

Application deadline is Dec. 15.
