Fanconi anemia sale raises $3,050

COEUR d'ALENE - Jennifer and Brian Dorman's garage sale held Aug. 12-13 in honor of their son Scott exceeded expectations.

"We were setting up on Thursday and people came in advance to buy stuff after reading The Press' article. We told them we were just setting up for Friday, but we said they could still buy stuff," said Jennifer, Scott's mother.

The fundraiser brought in $3,050 and proceeds will go to the Fanconi anemia foundation to research a cure for the rare genetic disorder 22-year-old Scott Dorman was diagonsed with in 1988. He passed away Aug. 16, 2010, on his 22nd birthday.
