Engel's goal lifts Bulldogs past Trojans in opener

SANDPOINT — Ellie Engel scored the go-ahead goal at the end of the first half as the Sandpoint Bulldogs defeated the Post Falls Trojans 3-2 in the nonleague opener for both at Centennial Field on Friday.

Killie Ellison and Jessica Waller scored on unassisted goals in the first 11 minutes for Post Falls to take a 2-0 lead.

Courtney Guy had five saves for Post Falls, which hosts Lakeland on Wednesday.

Meghan Pagano scored one goal and assisted on another for Sandpoint, which hosts Lewiston on Wednesday.
