COEUR d'ALENE - Parker Toyota has been committed to customer satisfaction for 25 years and they have been presented Toyota Motor Sales prestigious President's Award this week to prove it.

Mark Angelacos, Portland region general manager and Cooper Ericksen, Portland region assistant general manager, presented the award to Parker Toyota's staff.

The award is a very high honor received from Toyota; it is only awarded to those dealerships who have demonstrated a commitment to maintaining Toyota's high standards for customer satisfaction.

Parker Toyota is one of only five dealerships nationwide out of 1,300 to receive the award for 25 consecutive years.

In order to qualify as a President's Award winner, dealerships must excel in each of a series of categories, including Customer Sales Satisfaction and Customer Service Satisfaction. Parker Toyota strives to provide excellent customer service not only at the time of purchase but as long as the customer owns their vehicle.

"Our philosophy has always been to take care of our customers, our employees and our community," said Mike White, Parker Toyota general manager.

In addition to providing excellent customer service, Parker Toyota is committed to the community that it serves. Every school year they give two vehicles to local high schools as a fundraiser for sports and activities; this generosity has raised more than $700,000 over the past eight years. The dealership also promotes perfect attendance by local fifth- and sixth-grade students by rewarding them with a free bicycle if they achieve zero absences for the entire school year.

They have given 1,215 bikes to students who have achieved this goal over seven years they have conducted the program.

Parker Toyota helps first-grade students in Kootenai County make reading a priority by being a sponsor of the Learning with Lucky Program, which provides every first-grader a stuffed puppy to read with and overcome challenges associated with reading.
