Hayden road work will affect traffic

The city of Hayden will be chip sealing Government Way from Prairie Avenue to about 300 feet north of Miles Avenue later this month.

Prior to the chip sealing process, surface replacement at the library crosswalk and utility cover repairs need to be carried out.

As a result, travel on Government Way will be reduced to one direction. The south-bound lane will be closed from Aug. 9-10 and the northbound lane will be closed from Aug. 11-12. Contractor work hours will be about 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes such as Maple Street and U.S. 95, to reach cross streets to route back to Government Way. Customers trying to reach specific businesses will be accommodated, but delays should be expected.

Chip sealing should occur on either Aug. 14 or Aug. 21 Info: 209-2020
