Bobbitt moves to Community 1st Bank

Pacific Coast Banking School announced Friday that David P. Bobbitt, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Community 1st Bank, is the new Vice Chairman.

Bobbitt has served on the Board of Pacific Coast Banking School since 1995.

Bobbitt currently serves as president and board member of the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, vice chair and board member of the North Idaho Fair, and board member of the Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho.

Bobbitt was named vice president and manager of the Post Falls office of Idaho First National Bank in 1980, then in 1985, he was promoted to the senior management position at the Coeur d'Alene office with leadership responsibility for all three Coeur d'Alene based commercial and retail branches.

In 2004, Bobbitt was named president of Sterling Savings Bank overseeing the bank's 150 branches, Action Mortgage Company (Sterling subsidiary) and Harbor Financial (Sterling subsidiary) representing $7 billion in total assets. In 2006, he resigned from his positions with Sterling Savings Bank and its related entities.

Bobbitt has served in several positions in banking associations, including past president of the Idaho Bankers Association, past board member of the Idaho and Oregon Bankers Association, and vice chair of the America's Community Bankers Commercial Lending Committee. Bobbitt also has served as a past board member of the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry, University of Idaho college of business and economics advisory board, and the University of Montana business school advisory Board. Other previous positions include chairman of the Bureau of Land Management advisory council, and the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee.

Davidson recognized by PGA of America

The PGA of America on Friday announced that Circling Raven Director of Golf Tom Davidson has been named 2010 PGA "Merchandiser of the Year" for resort facilities.

That marks the first time a PGA Professional from the Pacific Northwest has been named PGA "Merchandiser of the Year" nationally since the award was established in 1978.

The Merchandiser of the Year Award was created in order to recognize PGA professionals who excel as businesspersons and merchandisers in the promotion of golf. The PGA criteria are demanding, focusing on growing and servicing the customer base, shop displays, financial details, ongoing training for staff, and many other mission critical components.

"Our success starts with the Coeur d'Alene Tribe and its great leadership, support and commitment to excellence," said Davidson, 47. "We are honored to earn this award as it is a tribute to all members of our team at Circling Raven and the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel."
