Schuman, T-Wolves spike Bears
COEUR d'ALENE - Jennifer Schuman had 24 kills as the Lake City Timberwolves defeated the Moscow Bears 26-24, 19-25, 25-15, 22-25, 15-9 in a nonleague match Thursday night at Lake City High.
"It was great to see all the kids step up tonight," Lake City assistant coach Laura Tolzmann said. "Madi (Farrell) had a tremendous night. It was good to see everyone play hard and battle it out for the win."
Farrell had 16 kills and 11 blocks, Camille Rounds had 44 assists and MacKenzie Brown had nine digs for Lake City (5-5), which hosts Coeur d'Alene on Tuesday.

Coeur d'Alene
LEWISTON - Kylie Curtis had eight kills and two aces for the Vikings in a 25-14, 25-21, 25-17 loss to the Bengals in a 5A Inland Empire League match at Booth Hall.
"I thought we did a better job bouncing back from our errors tonight," Coeur d'Alene coach Carly Curtis said. "Our girls were competing but when Savannah (Blinn) was up front, she just kept hitting over our front line. We served a lot faster and moved a little better tonight and I felt some chemistry out there."
Amy Norris had 10 digs and Ashley Hammons had eight assists for Coeur d'Alene (7-10, 0-3 5A IEL), which travels to Lake City on Tuesday. Lewiston is 1-1 in league.

Lakeland
RATHDRUM - Sam Buratto had six kills as the Bulldogs defeated the Hawks 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 in a 4A Inland Empire League match at Hawk Court.
"We moved some people around tonight," Lakeland assistant coach Tarra Anderson said. "We cut back on some of the critical errors we'd been making before."
Sandra Flambouras had 11 digs, Chelsea Bayley had eight assists and Kaitlyn Whitesitt had three blocks for Lakeland (1-12, 0-2 4A IEL), which hosts West Valley on Tuesday.
Erin Odgen, Whitesitt and Jayne Van Slate had four kills each for Lakeland.
Ariel Moe had 20 assists and two blocks and Blake Plaster 11 digs for Sandpoint (4-1, 2-0), which travels to Lewiston on Saturday.
Timberlake splits
nonleague matches
CHATTAROY, Wash. - Kelly Madsen had 10 kills and four aces as the Timberlake Tigers defeated the Riverside Rams 25-18, 25-18, 25-22 in a nonleague match.
Brooke Murray had 24 assists and Amanda Swanson eight digs for Timberlake (7-3).
Earlier in the night, Timberlake came up short against Freeman, falling 25-20, 25-13, 25-16.
Jen Munson and Michelle Eastman had four kills apiece, Murray had six assists, Swanson had 10 digs and Hannah Moseley three aces for Timberlake, which travels to the Bonners Ferry Invitational on Saturday.
"We started well in the first set against Freeman," Timberlake coach Michelle Garwood said. "We just kind of fell apart in the end and stopped playing as a team. Against Riverside, we played well and communicated and played well as a team."

Kellogg
KELLOGG - The Lumberjacks got 14 kills from Marlee Masterson and 10 from Mariah Gladden and beat the Wildcats 25-21, 25-15, 25-17 in Intermountain League play.
"I want to give Kellogg a lot of credit," St. Maries coach Missy Asbury said. "That was one of the toughest games we've played."
Jaylee Sines tallied 26 assists, while Tia Asbury had 15 digs and Gladden added three blocks for the Lumberjacks (11-2, 3-0 IML), who play host to Timberlake next Thursday.
Shayna Waechter had seven kills for the Wildcats (5-1, 1-1), Taylor Samuelson 30 assists, Samantha Squires 17 digs, Britney Jacobs two blocks.

HARRISON FLATS - Ana Parker had 15 assists as the Warriors defeated the Panthers 26-28, 25-20, 25-14, 20-25, 15-10 in a nonleague match.
"It was a tough fight," Kootenai coach Mandy Love said. "It was a very good win for us. It was a well-fought match."
Brie Benson had eight aces, Rachel McHail had five kills and Olivia Kincheloe had six digs for Kootenai (1-3), which travels to Mullan on Tuesday.
Paige Kelly had six aces and three blocks, Brianna Marshall had 14 assists and seven kills, Emily Verhaeghe six digs for Coeur d'Alene Charter (0-6), which travels to the Rosalia Invitational on Saturday.

Lakeside
PLUMMER - Jennifer Mitchell had 40 assists and 12 digs for the Knights in a 27-25, 15-25, 25-23, 30-28 loss to the Wampus Cats in a North Star League match.
"It was an emotional one for us tonight," Lakeside coach Jan Mitchell said. "We got down in that fourth game 24-19 and kept it going until 30-28. I thought we played well."
Joelle Miller had eight kills and 12 digs, Kyndra McCully and Maria Garcia nine aces each for Lakeside (3-1, 3-1 NSL), which travels to Coeur d'Alene Charter on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic School.
