Bulletin: Update on fatal crash near Twin Falls
The Twin Falls Sheriff's Office just sent out a media release
regarding the automobile crash in that county that claimed the lives
of two recent Coeur d'Alene High School graduates, Ryan Reinhardt,18,
and Devon Austin,19, and injured another, Jessica Duran, 19.
According to the release, the trio left a party in the early morning hours of Sept. 12, after they were involved in an altercation with others at
the party. At one point they were chased by several people from the
party in another vehicle. Following the chase, Reinhardt failed to
make a curve in the road, and his vehicle, a 1998 Toyota Camry, rolled
several times. Both Reinhardt and Austin were pronounced dead at the
scene. Duran was treated and released from St. Luke’s Magic Valley
Regional Medical Center.
Excessive speed and alcohol are believed to be factors.
Lori Stewart, the Public Information Officer for the Twin Falls County
Sheriff's Office, told The Press the investigation is ongoing and is
being handled as a single-car crash.
"We do know there was a chase, and we believe that alcohol was a
factor all the way around," Stewart told The Press.
Stewart would not release any details about the other vehicle.
The incidents leading up to this crash are still being investigated.
