Skyview edges Coeur d'Alene
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Skyview's Mo Morrison intercepted Coeur d'Alene quarterback Chad Chalich on the 10-yard line in the closing seconds to preserve a 36-34 win for the Storm (1-1) over the Vikings (2-1) on Saturday night at Kiggins Bowl.
Coeur d'Alene opened a 24-14 lead after the first quarter when Zach Keiser returned a blocked punt 26 yards for a touchdown touchdown. The Vikings struck again on a 52-yard pass from Chalich to Colin Comack to take a 17-0 lead.
After a pair of Skyview scores, Coeur d'Alene returner Drew Turbin returned a kickoff 82 yards to give the Vikings a 24-14 lead.
Skyview took the lead early in the fourth quarter as Kieran McDonagh found Riley Henderson on a 7-yard pass to take a 36-34 lead.
Coeur d'Alene returns to action Sept. 24 at home vs. Sandpoint.
