Isaiah Bible study class scheduled
Bible Study Fellowship's day women's class registration for Isaiah will be on Sept. 15 and Sept. 22 at 9:10 a.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Bible Church. Infants through kindergarten can be registered at the same time. Please do not bring your children to the intro class as child care is not available for unregistered children.

Men's Bible study classes planned
Bible Study Fellowship fall classes resumes Monday, Sept. 13. The Coeur d'Alene men's class, with more than 170 men and 25 children registered, meets from 6:55 to 8:45 p.m. This year's study is the book of Isaiah.
The men's class meets at Lake City Community Church, 6000 Ramsey Road. School age children may also attend, and will meet with other students their age to study the same material.
BSF is an international, inter-denominational organization founded in 1958 with more than 1,000 classes and more than 200,000 class members around the world. Locally, a women's class meets on Monday evenings at Hayden Friends Church, and another on Wednesday mornings at Coeur d'Alene Bible Church.

Aglow retreat offered in Kellogg
The North Idaho Aglow International fall retreat is Nov. 12-13 at Silver Mountain resort in Kellogg. Cost is $65 before Nov. 1, $85 after that date.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to come together in a restful, relaxing atmosphere and wade into the River of God," according to a press release. The guest speaker will be Raydeane Owens, whose husband, Jonathan Owens, is pastor of Heart of the City Church in Coeur d'Alene.

Dalai Lama?student to speak
Venerable Bhikshuni Thubten Chodron, Buddhist nun and a student of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, will speak at Gardenia Center in Sandpoint on Sunday, Sept. 12. She will speak on "Who's To Blame? (Why Pointing the Finger Never Makes us Happy)."
She will outline the theme during the regular Sandpoint Sunday Service, at 10 a.m. The teaching, which includes time for questions and discussion, will resume at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome for either or both sections of the talk. Gardenia Center is at 400 Church St.

Japanese prof?to speak in Cd'A
A law professor at Keio University Law School in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan will give a presentation on "contemporary Japanese society," this week.
Dr. Gerald McAlinn will speak at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Todd Lecture Hall at North Idaho College.
His talk will include "the nature of human rights in the Confucian and communitarian countries of Asia," according to a press release.
He will also talk about how Japan transformed itself over time from a samurai state to a modern post-World War II nation where the rejection of war as a method of resolving international disputes is now embodied in the Constitution of Japan.
The public is welcome.
