Ted Schulz won the First Tee Open for his first Champions Tour title, holing a 12-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole at Pebble Beach en route to a 2-under 70 and a one-stroke victory over Tom Pernice Jr.

The 50-year-old Schulz - in the field on conditional status in his 12th start on the 50-and-over tour - finished at 14-under 202. It was his first victory since winning the 1991 Nissan Open for the second of his two PGA Tour titles.

• Jason Day capped off an exciting day at the PGA Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Mass., with a routine birdie to take the lead going into the final round today.

Tiger Woods could only manage one birdie over the last 11 holes and shot a 2-under 69, leaving him tied for 23rd and 10 shots out of the lead.

Football

Darrelle Revis and the New York Jets agreed to a new contract, ending the All-Pro cornerback's holdout a week before the season opener.

He was scheduled to make $1 million in the fourth year of his six-year rookie deal.

American League

Twins 6, Rangers 5: At Minneapolis, Texas third base coach Dave Anderson was called for interfering with runner Michael Young for the final out, handing Minnesota a win over Texas.

Angels 7, Athletics 4: Bobby Abreu hit a home run and drove in three runs, leading visiting Los Angeles over Oakland.

White Sox 7, Red Sox 5: Gordon Beckham's bases-loaded walk with two outs pushed Chicago ahead in a four-run ninth inning that lifted the visiting White Sox over Boston.

Blue Jays 7, Yankees 3: Aaron Hill and Vernon Wells each hit two-run homers and visiting Toronto spoiled Alex Rodriguez's return to the New York lineup.

Orioles 8, Rays 7: Corey Patterson homered and had three RBIs, and host Baltimore withstood four home runs by Tampa Bay.

Royals 2, Tigers 1: Kyle Davies beat Detroit for the first time in six home starts, leading host Kansas City past Detroit.

• The Texas Rangers will take a cautious approach with pitcher Cliff Lee and he will not make his scheduled start Tuesday at Toronto because of a sore back and AL batting leader Josh Hamilton isn't sure when his rib injury will heal enough for him to rejoin the lineup.

National League

Marlins 7, Braves 6, 10 inn.: At Miami, pinch-hitter Scott Cousins delivered a game-winning single in the 10th for his first big league hit and Florida beat Atlanta.

Brewers 6, Phillies 2: Prince Fielder hit his 30th home run to lead visiting Milwaukee past Philadelphia to snap a five-game losing streak.

Nationals 8, Pirates 1: Ryan Zimmerman drove in four runs, Adam Dunn homered and Jason Marquis won his second in a row after previously going winless all season as visiting Washington beat Pittsburgh in a matchup of last-place clubs.

Cardinals 4, Reds 2: Matt Holliday hit a go-ahead, three-run homer to help host St. Louis over Cincinnati.

Mets 18, Cubs 5: Ruben Tejada hit his first major league homer and drove in five runs, Ike Davis also connected and visiting New York beat Chicago.

Rockies 4, Padres 2: Melvin Mora hit a go-ahead single that sent visiting Colorado over San Diego.

Astros 3, Diamondbacks 2: At Phoenix, Hunter Pence's three-run home run in the first helped Houston past Arizona.

Giants 3, Dodgers 0: Juan Uribe hit a two-run homer for the second straight game, leading San Francisco at Los Angeles.

Basketball

Sue Bird made a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds and the visiting Seattle Storm advanced to the WNBA finals with a 91-88 victory over the defending champion Phoenix Mercury, closing the game with a 15-0 run.

Hockey

The Spokane Chiefs were a perfect 3 for 3 in shootout attempts and beat the Portland Winterhawks 3-2 at the Silvertips Preseason Classic in Everett, Wash.

The Chiefs will play Lethbridge on Thursday and Tri-City on Saturday at the Tri-City Americans Preseason tournament in Pasco.
