St. Joe River Ranger District to begin bridge work
ST. MARIES - The St. Joe River Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests will replace and repair several bridges in the Emerald Creek and Loop Creek areas of the forest in September and October.
One bridge will be replaced and seven others will receive repairs. During these maintenance and construction activities there will be closures.
Beginning Wednesday, Emerald Creek Road No. 447 will be closed between the 7-mile marker just above the Emerald Creek Garnet Area and the 11-mile marker.
The closure will run to Oct. 6. During the closure alternative access routes to Forest Road 447 exist through Forest Road 377.
Between Sept. 27 and Oct. 8, Loop Creek Road No. 326 will be closed as the bridge is replaced. Forest visitors who wish to access the upper reaches of Loop Creek will still be able to do so by traveling from the Taft exit of Interstate 90 along Forest Road 506.
