NIC trustee race is getting interesting

| September 1, 2010 4:15 AM

The race for a pair of seats opening up on North Idaho College's Board of Trustees is already taking shape with hours to go before today's 5 p.m. filing deadline for declarations of candidacy.

Robert Ketchum, the former director of NIC's Workforce Training Center whose contract was not renewed earlier this year, has filed to run for Seat B, now held by Christie Wood. Wood has also filed a declaration.

Ron Nilson, fresh from last week's successful passage of levies to support the Kootenai Technical Education Campus, has filed to run for Seat A, now held by Rolly Williams, who is not running. So far, Nilson will run against Ken Howard, a Coeur d'Alene attorney, who has also filed to run for Seat A. - Maureen Dolan
