Anna Theresa Weiger, 84

Anna Theresa Weiger, 84, of Rathdrum, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Ivy Court Care Facility in Coeur d'Alene. Anna was born May 6, 1926, in Elmhurst, Ill., to the late Joseph and Martha (Latus) Kochelski. She married Erwin A. Weiger Jan. 8, 1949, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Elmhurst. He preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2000.

Anna was a graduate of York Community High School in Elmhurst. After graduation she attended business college in Chicago and continued her career in several different fields including banking, market research and secretarial services. Anna retired from Christian Brothers at Driscoll High School in Addison, Ill., as Dean of Girls and head assistant to the principal. Upon retirement in 1981 she and Erwin relocated to Rathdrum to enjoy travel, camping, flower gardening, cooking and gaming.

Anna was a strong supporter of the Boy Scout program and a devout Christian woman in several Catholic parishes throughout her life. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rathdrum where she served as president of the altar society for several terms. She was also a lay minister for the parish. Her abilities to brighten the church with flowers on a weekly basis will be greatly missed by all. She was a very kind, loving and giving person and touched many hearts along her journey of life.

Anna is survived by her son, John (Dianne) Weiger of Tomahawk, Wis.; granddaughter Charise (Joshua) Lewer of Tomahawk; granddaughter Alicia Weiger of Denver, Colo., and niece Cathy Clark of Owosso, Mich.

Anna was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret; brother Joseph Jr and sister Wanda. She will be very deeply missed by her family and friends.

Viewing will be from held from 9:30-10 a.m.; followed by rosary and funeral Mass beginning at 10 a.m. all on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rathdrum, with graveside service to immediately follow at Pinegrove Cemetery, Rathdrum. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, is entrusted with care of final arrangements.
