CURRIE: Listens to all perspectives

| October 28, 2010 10:00 PM

The Coeur d'Alene Association of Realtors endorses Rick Currie as a "Write-In" candidate. Due to a three way primary race the vote split one third for each candidate. The incumbent - Rick Currie - had votes diverted to Chris Fillios because Chris and Rick share similar ideals and beliefs.

Chris Fillios publicly asked his supporters to "write in" Rick Currie in the general election. Should all of Chris Fillios' supporters and Rick Currie's supporters do a "write in" that would be more than 60 percent of the votes.

Commissioner Currie gets our support for one principal reason - he is willing to listen. Go to any commission hearing, any meeting where a commissioner is invited to participate, any candidate debate, and you will see that Commissioner Currie shows up! Not only does he show up, he is the current leader in the difficult hearings on the Kootenai County Comprehensive Plan. We join others in our concerns that this plan is not perfect. We addressed the commission with those concerns. Rick Currie listened and removed regulatory language that does not belong in a comprehensive plan.

Rick Currie is listening and appears to strike a balance between growth that keeps this area healthy and protecting the quality of life that we all enjoy. I encourage you to get out and vote! Please consider supporting our effort to keep the dialogue flowing and "Write In" Rick Currie for Kootenai County Commissioner in District 2.
