POST FALLS - A 24-year-old Post Falls man was arrested for allegedly burglarizing the Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital early Friday.

Grant William Trimble was identified through video surveillance and admitted to investigators that he committed the burglary, according to police. He was arrested nine hours after the incident.

Trimble's father works at the hospital and Grant entered the building through a side door, using a stolen key, Post Falls Police Capt. Greg McLean said.

He allegedly stole about $200 from a cash register and caused several thousand dollars worth of damage while searching for items.

"Employees reported that several offices were found in disarray and attempts had been made to pry open a safe and a supply cart," said McLean, adding that the suspect was unable to enter the safe and cart. "A lot of shelves were knocked off the walls."

Police responded to the hospital at 5:43 a.m. after employees reported the damage.

However, some employees reported they saw a suspicious male and heard loud noises at 1:30 p.m. coming from the area where they later discovered the burglary.
