HOWARD: Top choice for trustee

| October 27, 2010 10:00 PM

Contrary to the claim of some that North Idaho College lacks transparency and community involvement; the voters need to be reminded that NIC has always included community membership in its daily actions as well as future direction.

Community members serve on the strategic planning committee, employment search committees for administrators, and program review committees. Your input has been solicited in needs surveys for new programs, requests for your participation on steering committee and advisory committee membership. Meeting agendas and minutes provide clear transparency. The "Community" has always been a critical piece for the success of the college.

The mission of North Idaho College is clearly stated, as well as the duties and responsibilities of its elected trustees.

Thus being said, the characteristics of a great trustee must be one of open-mindedness, a good listener, educated and not having a preconceived agenda. Ken Howard is clearly the candidate of choice for trustee position Seat A.
