CURRIE: He exemplifies service

| October 27, 2010 10:00 PM

Rick Currie has been a friend of mine since our early days as members of the Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce). Over the years my husband and I worked with Rick and other Jaycees on a number of community service projects. We built playgrounds, sold Hydroplane buttons, supported kids programs and many other activities.

One of the most important parts of our Jaycee experience was the leadership training that we gained by helping others. As a Jaycee, Rick was one of the leaders in the acquisition of the final piece of Tubbs Hill. As a County Commissioner, Rick went to each person who was losing their property to tax deed sales and I know he was instrumental in helping an elderly lady to save her home. His constant concern for others shows in the hours he spends attending meetings outside of the standard Commission requirements.

It is important that we keep Rick in office to continue protecting our county residents. The last line of the Jaycee Creed is "Service to humanity is the best work of life." Rick exemplifies those words. Write in Rick Currie for District 2 Commissioner. And don't forget to fill in the oval so they know it is a write in.
