NIC teams battle wind

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Rachel Westby shot a 87 to pace the North Idaho College women's golf team to a second place tie in the first day of the two-day Walla Walla Invitational at Wine Valley Golf Club.

Jacob Erickson shot a four-over 76 to lead the Cardinal men, tied for third out of 10 teams.

"They played in 30-40 mph winds all day," NIC coach Derrick Thompson said. "The course is up on a hill and there's not a tree in sight."
