Kootenai County will remove a piling in the channel of the Spokane River from Cedars Floating Restaurant downstream to the Spokane Street Bridge in Post Falls.
"The abandoned piling poses a hazard to boaters navigating the river during daylight hours," according to a press release. "At night, after dark, the piling becomes more hazardous to navigation of the river."
The piling project will begin today. Water levels, funding, and weather will dictate the project completion date.
The public may view the project work plan at the Kootenai County Parks and Waterways Office, 10905 N. Ramsey Road Hayden, Idaho or the Idaho Department of Lands' Mica Office at 3258 W. Industrial Loop Coeur d'Alene.
