SIMS: Idaho is her business

| October 25, 2010 5:34 AM

I seldom write letters to the editor but chose this forum to urge voters to give thoughtful consideration to electing Kathy Sims as our state representative for District 4B on November 2. Kathy Sims, a successful businesswoman for over 41 years through both the good and bad times, is eminently qualified to represent the citizens of Coeur d'Alene and Kootenai County. Kathy Sims, a hard working, common sense, compassionate conservative, is highly respected as a business and political leader in Idaho. Kathy Sims is approachable, down to earth and very sensitive to the concerns and challenges others face. I have often known Kathy Sims to make others the benefactors of her good will while expecting no thanks or recognition in return.

Kathy Sims believes in serving her community and her state with no expectations of praise or recognition for her efforts. She has served in the Idaho State Senate, on the Idaho Human Rights Commission, on the National Auto Dealers Board of Directors, on the Juvenile Diversion Board and in many other capacities.

Kathy Sims' consistent no-nonsense message promotes and encourages smaller government, less spending and keeping taxes as low as possible. Kathy Sims knows that in order for job-creating businesses to move to North Idaho, we must maintain a healthy business climate and a fiscally responsible state government.

Government, at all levels, needs to be run as much as possible like successful businesses. Kathy Sims will be the taxpayers' "bull dog" advocate working to eliminate waste and to increase efficiency in our state government. We need people who think like that in the Legislature. We need Kathy Sims. I urge you to vote for Kathy Sims for state representative from District 4B.
