NELSON: Because Currie already lost

| October 25, 2010 5:29 AM

Rick Currie! Where are you? Didn't you receive far less than 50 percent of the votes in the Republican primary? Didn't this give you some indication that many of us now lack confidence in you?

Now I did not read Mrs. Currie's (no relation to Rick Currie) letter to the editor so I don't know exactly what she said. But I'll tell you, Mr. Currie, why I did not vote for Rick Currie.

Several years ago I attended a Kootenai County Commissioners meeting. Thirty people were in attendance besides the three commissioners. These 30 people were nearby property owners. We were interested in the property application being reviewed. Twenty-nine of these property owners favored the application (25 of these property owners were registered voters in Kootenai County).

However, one man opposed this application because he claimed to have a legal easement through said property. This man had no documentation for an easement. Mr. Currie himself asked this man if he had any documentation. The man had none. All three commissioners voted to honor this undocumented claim. Later, the court determined that there was no easement.

Now I ask you, Mrs. Currie, is it more damnable to support a prevarication or to be accused of a falsehood?

My "X" will be by Jai Nelson's name when I vote on Nov. 2. Also, 24 other informed and concerned citizens will vote for Jai Nelson.
