FDR: It can work again

How the Franklin D. Roosevelt Administration managed through the depression of 1929-1934.

1. Created the Works Progress Adm., Civilian Conservation Corps, National Youth Administration and the National Recovery Act. All the foregoing provided jobs which relieved the unemployed.

2. Created the Tennessee Valley Authority which brought electricity to depressed areas.

3. Created the Federal Emergency Relief designed to help those in desperate need.

4. Created the Federal Housing Act designed to help people buy their homes.

5. Created the Social Security Act which set up a system of old age pensions and to coordinate federal and states actions to help the unemployed and the disabled.

Note that FDR was re-elected by a wide margin...
