NILSON: Will serve NIC well

| October 22, 2010 5:59 AM

First I would like to remind everyone to Vote on Nov. 2. Additionally, I would like to inform the voters how important the local race of NIC Board of Trustees affects all us more than we might realize.

NIC is in a position to help us out of the hard economic times we are facing. NIC is in a position to expand higher education to include more options for folks enrolled to better their career opportunities as well as those going on to a 4 year university. NIC is in a position to better meet the needs of the community it serves by being more involved with the business community and matching students to the many specialized jobs available in Kootenai County.

Ron Nilson is a candidate for NIC Board of Trustees - Seat A. Having served with Ron and watching his community involvement I can confidently state Ron Nilson is the best person for this position.

Ron is a trusted business leader in the community with a proven track record of bringing together many different industries for the purpose of improving our economic outlook. His passion for providing opportunities to kids to secure employment right here in Kootenai County is evident in the success of KTEC which he founded. Because I come from a banking background and understand budgets and financial strategies, I have been very impressed with Ron's ability to handle multi-million dollar budgets while remaining fiscally prudent.

I firmly believe Ron Nilson is in a position to be able to help determine what the community needs and how NIC can fulfill that need. Ron Nilson is in the best position to be a representative for the taxpayers to see that NIC lives within their budget and doesn't rely on future taxing options. As a trusted leader, Ron Nilson is in a position to return accountability and transparency to the NIC Board of Trustees.

Please join me in voting for Ron Nilson, NIC Board of Trustees - seat A.
