Cd'A man reports theft of chainsaw
COEUR d'ALENE - It's not always a good idea to loan out your tools to neighbors, because sometimes, you don't get them back.
A Coeur d'Alene man told police he loaned his chainsaw to his neighbor, who used it and later set it back in the owner's yard, just inside the gate of his fence on Tuesday night.
The owner said he saw the Stihl MS 440 gray and orange chainsaw, valued at $1,000, about 6 p.m., but a few hours later went to get it, and it was gone
The owner told police his neighbor has very high weeds in his backyard and they were matted down.
"He believes someone walked through the neighbor's yard, to Michael's fence, opened the gate and took the chainsaw," a police report said.
Michael could not provide any suspect information. Michael did not have the serial number for the chainsaw, police reported.
